Furniture Dismantling & Assembly

The furniture that causes the most trouble on moving day is not the heaviest. It is the king bed that will not turn the stair corner, the almirah that is wider than the lift, and the dressing table mirror that nobody took off. Our carpenters take furniture apart the right way, keep every screw with its piece, and put it back together solidly at your new home.

The Short Answer

Our furniture service covers checking which pieces need to come apart, dismantling beds, wardrobes, dining tables and dressing tables with the right tools, bagging and labelling all hardware, wrapping every part for transport, and reassembling and levelling everything at the new home. You can book it with your move or on its own.

Worth Knowing

Solid Wood vs Particle Board

Not all furniture survives being taken apart the same way, and it helps to know which kind you have:

  • Solid wood: sheesham, deodar and similar furniture is usually joined with bolts and dowels and goes back together as strong as before.
  • Particle board and MDF: common in modern wardrobes and flat-pack furniture. Screw holes wear a little each time, so pieces are handled gently and screwed back into the original holes.
  • Glued joints: some older almirahs are glued and should move whole if they fit, rather than be forced apart.
Our rule: if a joint looks weak or glued, we tell you before touching it, not after.

FAQs

Furniture Dismantling FAQs

Usually yes. Most double and king beds, especially storage and hydraulic beds, have to come apart to fit through doors, stairwells and lifts and to travel safely. Single beds and simple frames sometimes move in one piece.

Most can, but not all. Some built-in or glued wooden almirahs were never designed to come apart. We check the joints before starting and tell you if a piece should move whole or stay behind.

Solid wood furniture usually goes back together as strong as before. Particle board and MDF furniture loses a little strength each time screws are taken out, so we use the original holes carefully and tell you if any joint needs a fix.

Every piece of hardware goes into a labelled bag taped to the furniture it came from, so nothing is lost or mixed up on the way.

Yes. You can book dismantling, assembly or both, with or without the rest of the move.

Tell us about wall-mounted TVs and units when you book, so we can plan for brackets and fixing at the new home.
